Dr. Mediratta�s special areas of interest are: Promotion of Steel
in different segments of industry; Life Cycle Analysis; Management
of Production Departments, Research & Control Laboratories, R&D;
Departments; Technology Management; Production & Processing of Alloy
Steel; Steel Product Development; Environment Management; Process
Metallurgy; and Mechanical Metallurgy.
After working for 35 years in different capacities
in different units of SAIL including R & D Centre for Iron & Steel,
Dr. Mediratta is heading the Institute for Steel Development & Growth
as Director General since July 1998.
Dr. Mediratta is the Project Director of Phase
II of the Project relating to organizing 3 National Workshops on
Structural Steel Design for University Faculty so as to expose 150
teachers to the advanced Teaching Resource Material developed by
the Expert Team under the leadership of Dr. R. Narayanan, Project
Director of Phase I.
